Moonlight Mixers return to the Pier this month
from Staff Reports
Summer nights on Folly Beach are about to get a little livelier. Charleston County Parks & Recreation Commission is bringing back its popular Moonlight Mixers series to the Folly Beach Pier this month, offering five Friday evenings of music, dancing, and coastal views.
The series kicks off Friday, May 1 and continues throughout the summer, with a mix of DJ sets and live performances. DJ Bill Shelton returns to spin beach music and oldies on May 1, July 31, and Sept. 18, while live acts include the Dave Landeo Band on June 5 and Calhoun’s Calling on Aug. 21. Each event runs from 7 to 10 p.m., inviting locals and visitors alike to dance under the stars at the “Edge of America.”
Advance tickets are $10, with day-of admission priced at $15. Children ages 3 and under are admitted free. Organizers recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time, as the mixers have become a staple of Folly’s summer calendar.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase on site, including beer, wine, and snacks from Koko’s on the Pier, along with additional options at the Gangplank Gift & Tackle Shop near the pier entrance. Outside food and beverages are not permitted, and pets are not allowed. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs for use outside the designated dance floor, as seating is limited.
