Planet Follywood celebrates 10 years of its Womanless Beauty Pageant on Sept. 25

For the last 10 years brave men of Folly Beach have gotten dolled up for a good cause. Planet Follywood’s Womanless Beauty Pageant has become one of those quirky events that is uniquely Folly. And in typical Folly fashion, there’s also a fundraising element tied. The annual event, which will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, benefits The Folly Angels, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the people of Folly Beach who are battling cancer and needy families.
The Womanless Beauty Pageant is one of the most uniquely entertaining “beauty pageants” you have ever witnessed. Each year, local men get in touch with their more feminine side, don high heels, wigs, dresses, and makeup as they strut their stuff down the Planet Follywood “runway.” The crowd, cheers, jeers, drinks beers, and raises money. There will be a live raffle the night of the pageant and a 50/50 raffle held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26. Tickets can be purchased at any time from a Folly Angel, at the event, or from Mama Flo at Planet Follywood.
